Season 9 reveals that Carter left SG-1 to work at Area 51 after the collapse of the Goa'uld power structure. After Lieutenant Colonel Cameron Mitchell assumes command of SG-1, General O'Neill orders Carter to assist SG-1 on a mission concerning the new Ori threat. After leaving Stargate SG-1 in season 5, Michael Shanks returned as a series regular in season 7. Daniel Jackson's mystical focus led to a fitting end, ascending to a higher plane after a radiation exposure. Shanks left due to creative differences but came back due to Daniel Jackson's enduring popularity. The show attempted a reset after season 8, in part because star Richard Dean Anderson left the main cast to spend more time with his daughter, but it just didn't pan out. Viewership continued to decline, and the Stargate SG: 1 was becoming increasingly costly.
What happened to Stargate SG-1 : These new elements didn't guarantee the series' longevity past Season 10, and Syfy confirmed the cancellation in 2006. Part of the reason for the show's premature end seemed to be its decline in ratings combined with rising production costs and a lack of marketing.
Why didn’t James Spader do SG-1
At the time, Kurt Russell was only interested in film roles, saying he did not enjoy the pace of television production. James Spader, for his part, was quite clear that he disliked the Stargate film script, taking the role mainly because it paid well. No one has answered this question yet.
Why did Dr. Frasier leave Stargate SG-1 : Cooper subsequently made the decision to kill off the recurring character of Dr. Janet Fraiser to further his examination of the characters and look at how they dealt with loss and sacrifice. Teryl Rothery has portrayed Dr. Janet Fraiser since the season 1 episode "The Broca Divide."

Two they had a great cast not just Richard Dean Anderson but Michael Shanks, Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge, Don S Davis and all the other great actors that starred in the show and they kept the good ideas coming. The actor was unhappy with the direction SG-1 was heading and felt his character was often sidelined.
Davis left the regular role after the seventh season of SG-1 due to health problems, but appeared in later seasons as well as in a season 1 episode of Stargate Atlantis. Davis died from a heart attack in June 2008, making his appearance in the 2008 direct-to-DVD film Stargate: Continuum his last.

Is Stargate SG-1 or Atlantis better : Although SG1 have higher highs Stargate Atlantis is still the slightly better show because it is more consistent and have very, very few low points. This is Scifi at its best and with compelling characters, fantastic story arch's and great action this is one of the best shows out there.

On May 12, 2011, Syfy released a letter explaining its reasons for the series' cancellation. The letter discussed the fact that ratings during the first season had fallen significantly on the Friday timeslot, dropping over 25% of its viewership during the long hiatus between the first and second half of the season. This show continues to impress me. Very few TV shows based on films are ever good, this one is. Very few TV shows can maintain their pace and originality over the years, this one has.
Is Stargate Universe ever coming back : That means potential future Universe stories are perhaps unlikely, but that doesn't mean Smith and Carlyle are any less interested in returning. "You never say never, I've learned that," Carlyle said, while promoting his new FX sequel series The Full Monty. "I would think it would be unlikely for it to come back. …
